Cheetahs: The great survivors

I often wonder when I watch documentaries on cheetahs just how they manage to survive. Speed alone doesn’t enable you to thrive with so many competing pressures and between lions, hyenas and any number of other tough competing predators you would think cheetahs would suffer. So although I love cheetahs for their elegance, grace and their seeming fragility I also like the fact that they are hanging in there with the bully boys! Their numbers, like all African big cats are waning but I’m sure we’ll see them overcome the odds. They’re used to it.
