The islands off the southern coast of Cuba are the last stronghold of the Cuban Iguana (Cyclura nubila). I found this one on a beach on Cayo Blanco. The Cuban Iguana is the largest of the various species of West Indian rock iguanas, a particularly endangered group of lizards.
