Little Egret poised to strike
AVAILABLE TO BUY:
One of my favourite wading birds is the Little Egret. They are elegant and lend themselves very well to simple images that show off their form in an uncluttered way. I also enjoy watching them because of their behaviour. Unlike the Grey Heron, which hunts by standing stock still for long periods of time, the Little Egret is a busy bird, stalking through the shallows looking for worms or small fish.
This one was captured at the Hampshire & Isle of Wight Trust’s Lower Test Reserve on the edge of Southampton, Hampshire, UK. It’s home to a wide variety of wading birds and one of my favourite photography locations.
