Workshops & Tuition
As well as making my own images, I enjoy the opportunity to pass on my experience to others through tuition and mentoring.
I run 1-to-1 wildlife photography workshops in Hampshire to provide tuition suitable for beginners or more advanced enthusiasts. These take advantage of the wealth of wildlife in the Hampshire area, both in the controlled environment of animal parks or by getting out into the countryside for a real wild experience!
Rather than sharing tuition time as part of a larger group my sessions are designed for either individuals or couples, I don’t offer group sessions as I feel the real value is in personal tuition that focusses on what you want to get out of the day and the pace at which you want to learn.

What’s the experience like?
I love teaching people about wildlife and photography, hopefully that comes across on the day! Here’s what some of the attendees have had to say about workshops they’ve attended in the last 12 months:
“I was given a voucher to Tom’s wildlife workshop for my birthday. I have to say the day really surpassed my expectations. I felt immediately comfortable with Tom, he assumed nothing and went into as much or as little detail as I needed. We had a great, relaxing and light hearted day at 3 locations. Tom gave me plenty of ideas and techniques (and followed up with written notes later) that I could use immediately and I’m confident that my Wildlife photography will improve measurably. Highly recommended. Thank you Tom” – Conrad H
“I thoroughly enjoyed the day and learnt a lot from it. I would certainly recommend other people to book a day’s workshop with you. I think it had just about the right balance of technical and aesthetic content combined with a lot of fun as well.” – Dickie B
“I really liked your ‘mix and match’ approach of talking, explaining and demonstrating some of the technicalities, but always with the photograph itself being the most important thing. I really liked that, while paying attention to all the settings etc, we never lost sight of the subject we were photographing.” – Ann & Kay
“I had a fantastic day with Tom! I learnt lots of things about my camera that I didn’t know and learnt how to capture amazing images of animals using all the different settings. We got lots of great photos and I thoroughly enjoyed my day. I would definitely recommend this workshop to everyone!” – Ellie
“It was great just having the extra guidance, someone watching out for shots and watching what I was doing without being intrusive, but advising me in the right way” – Mark P
“Tom is very knowledgeable and patient. He makes you feel at ease whilst imparting some excellent information and tips. I would definitely do another workshop in the future as I had a great time at the Marwell Zoo workshop and learned a lot” – Paul F
